Two Factory Women Drown In Kano Pond

No fewer than two women have been confirmed dead in a pond located in Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State.

It was gathered that the two victims lost their lives on Monday, while trying to clean up their bodies after the close of work at a Zobo processing factory in the state.

This was contained in a statement by Spokesman for Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi on Wednesday.

Saminu said that the corpses were handed over to Musa Garba, a police constable at the Gezawa police division.

He said: ”We received a distress call on Tuesday morning at about 11:15a.m. from a vigilance group at Gezawa that two women had drowned in a pond.

“The relatives of the victims informed the vigilance group that the women worked at a ”Zobo” (Hibiscus) processing company.

“They said that the women had gone to the pond to get themselves up after closing from work and drowned.

“We quickly sent our rescue team to the scene and recovered the corpses from the pond.”
