No fewer than eight cows have been killed, following a lightning attack in the Ori-Ohin community, Ifon, Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State.
It was gathered that the incident occurred on Sunday evening during a heavy downpour, which left the residents of the town in panic.
Confirming the development in a statement by Spokesman for Ondo State Police Command, Olayinka Ayanlade, disclosed that it was a natural occurrence.

He said: “I can confirm that eight cows were killed by a thunder strike yesterday (Sunday) in the community. It’s a natural phenomenon, and we can’t hold anyone responsible for that act.
“So, we did not foresee any possible breakdown of law and order. Our men have been in the town for two weeks, carrying out soft operations to avoid any security breaches and clashes.”
