Tope Fasua, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Economic Affairs in the Office of the Vice President, has expressed strong confidence in Tinubu’s chances of re-election come 2027.
Fasua emphasised that Tinubu’s experience, political structure, and national reach give him a significant edge over any potential challengers. He urged Nigerians to remain patient, assuring them that the administration is working tirelessly to address economic challenges and improve the overall welfare of citizens.
Speaking in an interview with journalists on Sunday, Fasua disclosed: “I don’t even see where you’re going to start. It is going to end up in frustration. They don’t even have a platform anymore. Which platform are they using?”
He continued, pointing to Tinubu’s success in the 2023 election:
“Tinubu won under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC. He defeated the likes of Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP. That wasn’t by accident it was strategy, structure, and the will of the people.
Fasua also dismissed the possibility of a united opposition ahead of 2027, stating,
“A lot of the opposition voices are busy fighting themselves. They’ve lost focus and unity. Meanwhile, President Tinubu is focused on delivering on his mandate.
“Leadership is not magic it’s hard work, consistency, and planning. And this President is doing just that. Give it time, and the results will speak louder than words.”
