“I Tore My Son’s British Passport” – Solomon Buchi, Wife Plan Relocation To Nigeria, Vow To Endure Hardship

Nigerian writer and life coach Solomon Buchi has announced his decision to relocate permanently to Nigeria with his wife and son, declaring his commitment to the country’s progress.

Taking to X on Tuesday, Buchi shared that he had gone as far as tearing his son’s British passport and ordering a Nigerian passport instead, emphasising his determination to endure any hardship for the country’s growth.

“My wife and I have decided to move back to Nigeria. We all need to come together and build our nation. I’ve torn my son’s British passport and ordered a Nigerian passport. I’m willing to endure any hardship in Nigeria to see it work,” he wrote.

His statement has sparked mixed reactions online, with some applauding his patriotism while others questioned the practicality of his decision.

While many Nigerians seek better opportunities abroad due to economic instability, insecurity, and poor governance, Buchi’s choice to return stands in contrast to the widespread ‘japa’ trend. Some critics argue that his move could be seen as unnecessary self-sacrifice, while his supporters hail it as an inspiring example of national loyalty.

Solomon Buchi, known for his strong views on social and relationship issues, has often used his platform to advocate for self-improvement and national development.

However, his drastic move has left many wondering if his decision will stand the test of time or if he will eventually reconsider.
