Saudi Arabia has declared that the Shawwal crescent has been sighted, marking Sunday, March 30, 2025, as the date for Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
The announcement was shared on Saturday via Haramain’s official X page, a widely recognised platform for the global Muslim community.
“The crescent moon for the month of Shawwal 1446 was sighted in Saudi Arabia. Therefore, Eid Al Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday, March 30, 2025.

“May Allāh accept our siyām, qiyām & a’māl & may He allow us to witness many more Ramadāns in good health. Āmīn,” the statement read.
Eid al-Fitr signifies the conclusion of Ramadan, the sacred month of fasting in Islam, and is observed globally by Muslims through prayers, festive meals, and charitable deeds.
