A deadly road accident at Eldorado Cina Junction along Airport Road in Kano on Wednesday claimed two lives and left one person critically injured.
The accident, which happened around 8:15 a.m., involved a commercial DAF truck and a private Jincheng motorcycle.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Kano Sector Command blamed the accident on reckless driving.
CRC Abdullahi Labaran, the Sector Public Education Officer, confirmed the incident, stating that FRSC personnel arrived at the scene within three minutes of receiving the alert.

“Our operatives acted swiftly to rescue the injured victim and transport him to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, while the deceased were taken to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital,” Labaran stated.
He added that the crash involved six men, with two losing their lives and one sustaining severe injuries, while the remaining three were unharmed.
The recovered items and vehicles were transferred to Gwagwarwa Police Division for further investigation.
Officials have advised motorists to drive cautiously and follow traffic rules to avoid similar tragedies.
“The FRSC deeply regrets this incident. We extend our condolences to the bereaved families and wish the injured victim a speedy recovery,” Labaran added.
This recent accident highlights growing concerns about road safety in Kano, with authorities stressing the importance of strict adherence to traffic regulations.
