The King of England, King Charles has expressed love for Nigerian music star, Davido.
The British monarch, in a video making rounds online, was captured speaking about his love for music, which he stated means a great deal to me. He noted how music has a remarkable ability to bring happy memories, comfort us in times of sadness, and take us to distant places. He added that music brings us joy and this is why he composed a list of some of his favorite songs.
King Charles shocked many Nigerians when he mentioned Davido’s song, Kante from his Timeless Album as one of his favorite songs. He went on to gush over him, stating that Davido has made him love Pidgin English.
The British monarch expressed enthusiasm in speaking Pidgin English when next he visits Nigeria and also expressed love for Afrobeats as he noted how it has become popular across the world.

Davido has made me like Pidgin English. I would like to speak it when next I visit Nigeria. Thanks to Afrobeats, it’s becoming more popular around the world”.
Davido, via his Instagram story, reposted the video as he gave a shout-out to the monarch’s family.
Over the years, Davido has proven himself to be one of the greatest of his time. He has had quite several successful albums and shows that pulled in thousands of fans. He has performed in many countries outside Africa, and he often draws mammoth crowds during his performances, which goes to show just how far his influence has gone.
Last year, American rapper, Nicki Minaj, had revealed why she chose to work with Davido, in her track, “If It’s Okay”. Minaj said Davido is an incredible writer and melody maker, hence why she chose him. She added that it is always a great pleasure working with him because of their mutual respect for one another.
Also, American singer, had revealed that Davido’s hit song, Unavailable is one of her favorite songs. Davido had reacted to it by sharing a heartwarming caption gushing over Rihanna.
