NIGERIA – A young woman who left home to visit her boyfriend has been killed, and her family is seeking justice after the police allegedly released the boyfriend.
The family of the deceased, 24-year-old Priscilla Ocheme, reached out to activist Harrison Gwamnishu for help. Priscilla had visited a male friend she attended Madonna University with at his home in Lugbe, Abuja. She was later found dead, with blood all over her face.
According to Gwamnishu, the incident was reported to the police, but the male friend was released after claiming she suffered an accident.
“The young man was arrested by police, detained. No autopsy was conducted on Priscilla’s body, and he is now walking free,” Gwamnishu stated.
A screenshot of the young man’s Instagram shows that Priscilla had liked his posts, but this does not implicate him in her death.
The family is now calling for a thorough investigation into her tragic death.
