“How are people surviving?” Mary Njoku laments after paying N664 for toll gate

Nollywood actress, Mary Remmy Njoku has taken to social media to cry out over the situation of things in the country.

Since President Tinubu stepped into office, rather than for things to subside, there has been an incessant increase in fuel and prices of food.

Taking to her Instagram page to share her receipt, Mary Njoku revealed that she paid 664 nairas for the toll gate.

The mother of three questioned if it has become a norm or if she was cheated.

She noted how it now takes more than the minimum monthly wage to fill the tank of a car.

Mary Njoku ended by questioning how people were surviving.

“I just paid 664 nairas for toll gate. Na so e don be? Abi Dem cheat me. It now takes more than the minimum monthly wage to fill the tank of a car. How are people surviving?”.

This isn’t the first time the wife of Jason Njoku is lamenting over the country’s dwindling economy.

Weeks back, Mary Njoku had cried out over the situation of things in the country.

In a late-night post, Mary questioned if her fans were awake as she had been unable to sleep over the country’s increasing problem. She also questioned how they were coping with the economic downturn.

Mary noted how fuel is scarce, poor security, lack of cash flow, and lots more.

“Who is awake?

The problem in Nigeria is becoming unbearable.

No money. No fuel. No security. Nothing!!

How are we coping?
The situation don clear sleep for my eyes”.

In better light, Mary Remmy Njoku was quite ecstatic after being recognized by the prestigious American magazine, Forbes.

Forbes released its yearly list of the 50 most influential women in Africa.

The list compromised women from different sectors and industries. From the world of business to media, health, politics, and more.

Gracing the magazine this year were Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Chimamanda Adichie, Mo Abudu, Chioma Ude, Bolanle Austen Peters, Mary Remmy Njoku, and more.

Mary Njoku, who couldn’t believe she made it to the prestigious magazine, took to her Instagram page to express gratitude to her husband.

An excited Mary noted how she was only a Mile2-born Nnsukka girl before becoming a power figure.

Mary Njoku appreciated her husband, who she described as her ‘Halo’.
