President Bola Tinubu on Monday appointed DCG Adewale Bashir Adeniyi as the new acting Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).
Adeniyi was appointed alongside new service chiefs that will take over the security affairs of Nigeria.

President Bola Tinubu has sacked Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, and replaced him with Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, in the acting capacity.
The President also approved the immediate retirement of all Service Chiefs, Advisers, Comptroller-General of Customs from Service as well as their replacements with immediate effect.

Born on September 4, 1964 in Erinja, Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State, Egbetokun bagged a Bachelor of Science Degree (BSC) in Mathematics from the University of Lagos. Before he joined the Nigeria Police Force, he had also lectured mathematics briefly at the Yaba College of Technology, Lagos.

The Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, on Monday, alleged that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) refused to provide the documents they asked for.
Obi and the LP are petitioners in the petition marked CA/PEPC/03/2023 challenging the election of President Bola Tinubu.
Respondents are Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The LP and Obi told the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) that due to INEC’s refusal to provide them with the documents they asked for, they can’t go on with their case.

Former President, Goodluck Jonathan; former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, former Delta state governor, James Ibori, were among the dignitaries who attended the the farewell ceremony for the late Nigerian media icon, Raymond Aleogho Dokpesi, in Abuja on Monday.
Speaking at the event organized by the family of late Dokpesi, Atiku disclosed that they had been friends for over 40 years due to his caring and commitment to develop Nigeria.
On his part, Jonathan said after he lost the 2015 election, he was deserted by those close to him but an event organised by Dokpesi motivated him to know that there is life after losing an election.
