Labour Party Speaks On Arrest Of Its National Chairman, Julius Abure

The Labour Party (LP) has refuted claims that Julius Abure, its national chairman, has been detained by security personnel.

The LP leadership further charged that the video on the internet claiming Abure had been detained by security personnel was the work of the camp of its factional National Chairman, Lamidi Apapa.

Vanguard report that, The party called the popular film created by its former youth leader, Anselem Eragbe, fraudulent and encouraged the public to ignore it in a statement released on Friday by its acting national publicity secretary, Obiora Ifoh.

The Labour Party further stated that Abure participated in today’s Presidential Appeal Tribunal before going on to other important obligations.

Vanguard report that, “The 10-second video, which was released by the party’s former youth leader Anselem Eragbe, shows police officers shouting with one another about an unidentified issue. Abure and none of our other leaders were not visible in the video.

“The security authorities have no cause to pursue Abure’s arrest and are not looking for him. If they want his attention, they will personally invite him or even use one of his many security personnel.

As a matter of fact, Abure was present for today’s court hearing at the ongoing Presidential Appeal Tribunal and is currently attending to various important commitments.

“By now, Nigerians must be aware of the Apapa group’s ability to spread false information and misinformation. Therefore, we request that Nigerians ignore yet another attempt by these outlaws to defame the reputation of our outstanding chairman,” Ifoh stated.
