With about 72 hours to the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly, a support organisation in the All Progressives Congress, under the aegis of Progressive Support Group on Saturday urged the House of Representatives members-elect and Nigerians to reject attempts by the APC to impose a leadership.

The organisation said the advice became necessary to avoid truncating the nation’s democracy and pocketing the parliament away from meeting their constituted roles to the electorates.

The Spokesperson of the group, Silas Audu Wettok, in a statement, called on the lawmakers to consider the national interest of the country first because Nigeria is bigger than any political group .

The APC had named the chairman, House Committee on Land Transport, Tajudeen Abass and chairman, House Committee on Media and Publicity, Benjamin Kalu as its preferred candidates for the positions of Speaker and Deputy Speaker in the 10th House.
