Former Chelsea Forward Timo Werner has shared his optimism about how Chelsea will bounce back to the top in the next few years. Chelsea was horrible last season across all competitions as they failed to win any Title despite spending more than £500million to sign new Players.
The West London club also failed to qualify for any European Tournament as they missed the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League qualifications.
Despite the bad performance of the West London club last season which left no room for any positive, Timo Werner believes strongly that it’s just a matter of time before Chelsea makes it back to the top.
The German Forward, who was part of the Chelsea squad that won the UEFA Champions League in 2021 before he returned to Rb Leipzig last summer, told Sport Bild, a German sport publication, that Chelsea is one of the best clubs in Europe.
He said: “I believe that Kai, no matter how it went at Chelsea, always got his minutes. In the next few years, the team will move back to where Chelsea belongs. Chelsea is still one of the best in all of Europe. There are simply ups and downs, especially the Premier League.”
Last season was a new low for Chelsea in the Premier League as the West London club didn’t get up to 50 points on the Premier League table but, the West London club has found themselves in similar position in the past and they managed to pick up again.
In the 2015/16 season that Leicester City won the Premier League title, Chelsea finished on 10th position on the Premier League table but, they rose to the top and won the League the following season. Chelsea is like a phoenix that always manage to rebirth itself from its ruin of ashes. It might not be different for the West London club this time around too.
