Lai Gets New Appointment After 8 Years With Buhari

Former Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has been offered a new appointment as a Managing Partner of Ballard Partners, a global lobbying organisation.

The new position is coming in less than two weeks since the dissolution of ex-President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet.

In a statement on Ballard Partner’s official Twitter page, the ex-minister’s new position was officially acknowledged.

The post disclosed, “Ballard Partners, a leading government relations business in the US, will open its first office in Africa in Abuja, Nigeria, the country’s capital.

The firm’s satellite office in Lagos, the country’s financial hub, will be managed by Lai Mohammed, the recently-retired minister of communications and culture of Nigeria.”

Mohammed was appointed to the position, according to the firm’s president, because he “is one of the most respected officials in the country”.

Ahmed Wadada, the Senator-elect for Nasarawa West Senatorial District, has resigned his appointment as the Chairman, Board of Directors of PAN Nigeria Ltd.

This is contained in a letter addressed to the Board of Directors of the through the acting Managing Director of PAN and made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Abuja.

Wadada thanked the board, management and staff of the for their support and cooperation during his tenure.

According to Wadada, he resigned because he needed to effectively concentrate on providing purposeful representation upon the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly on June 13.

President Bola Tinubu is holding his first meeting with Governors of the 36 States of the Federation known as the Nigeria Governors’Forum, NGF at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting commenced around 12:36pm on Wednesday.

Although the agenda was not revealed yet, sources opined that the interactions between Tinubu and the governors would centre on the fuel subsidy impasse and the leadership tussle in the 10th National Assembly.

The Deputy Governors of Edo and Niger are representing their States.

Man Seeking Divorce Absent In Court Owing To Lack Of Transport Fare

A man, Ali Abubakar, who was dragged to a Shari’a court sitting in Kaduna by his wife, Ajinomo Ohunenene-Ummi on Wednesday was absent owing to a lack of transport fare to the court.

Abubakar had sent word through the court messenger, Tajuddeen Saidu that he would not be available for the hearing because he does not have transport fare from Abuja to Kaduna.

He prayed the court to go ahead with the proceedings and grant the petitioner her wishes.

Earlier, the petitioner, through her counsel, Nafisa Ibrahim stated that she wants to redeem herself

from the marriage and was ready to return the N50,500 dowry her husband [aid.

She also prayed court to grant her custody of their one-year-old daughter.
