Atiku Tenders Kogi Results, Tribunal Hears Obi’s Petition
Since Tuesday, May 30, the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal (PEPT) has been hearing petitions challenging the victory of President Bola Tinubu (All Progressives Congress) in the February 25 presidential election.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar; the Labour Party and its candidate, Peter Obi; and the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) are the petitioners.
Adeoye Emerges Speaker
The lawmaker representing Ikole constituency two in the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Adeoye Aribasoye has emerged the Speaker of the House of Assembly.
Aribasoye, who was nominated by Femi Akindele of Irepodun Ifelodun Constituency One, was unanimously accepted by other members of the House during the first plenary session held at the Assembly chamber, Ado Ekiti.
EFCC Arrests 20 Internet Fraud Suspects In Kwara
In its bid to curb the rising tide of internet fraud related crimes particularly among the youths, operatives of the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have arrested 20 suspects over offences bordering on cybercrime.
A statement signed by Wilson Uwujaren, the head of Media and Publicity of EFCC, made available to the PUNCH correspondent in Ilorin, Kwara State on Tuesday said that the arrest was the second of such operation within the last one month in Ilorin.
Adewale Egbedun Emerges Speaker
Adewale Egbedun, representing Odo-Otin State Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly has emerged the Speaker of the Assembly.
Egbedun is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the 8th session of the Osun State House of Assembly.
He was elected on Tuesday after being nominated by Ibrahim Abiola of Irewole/Isokan constituency and seconded by Areoye Samuel, another member.
