The outgoing Vice Chancellor of the Bayelsa State-owned Niger Delta University, Wilberforce Island, Prof. Samuel Edoumiekumo, has said that he is bowing out of office as a fulfilled man after serving out his tenure.

Edoumiekumo stated this at a reception/homecoming ceremony organised in his honour by the dean, lecturers and staff members of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the main campus of the university in Amassoma, on Friday.

The reception party was among several activities put together to celebrate his exit, a valedictory congregation and the formal inauguration of the NDU Cooperative petrol station, which he performed.

Twelve (12) lawmakers of the Oyo state house of Assembly have endorsed Honourables Tajudeen Abbas and Ban Kalu as Speaker and Deputy Speaker respectively.

In some documents obtained from a session held by the state house lawmakers, 12 reps out of 14 appended their signatures supporting the duo’s positions as Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Oyo State house of assembly.

El-Rufai Vows To Sack Workers

Governor Nasir El-Rufa’i of Kaduna State has said he would continue to sack workers, and embark on the demolition of houses and bad structures in the State until the eleventh hour of his administration.

He spoke at a book launch in Kaduna on Saturday, where Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State praised his courage for telling truth to power.

Corrupt Politicians Planning To Flee Before May 29 – EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has raised the alarm that some governors and politicians, accused of corruption, have perfected plans to flee the country ahead of the May 29, 2023 inauguration of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu.

The PUNCH reports that governors-elect, senators-elect, the House of Representatives and state Houses Assembly members-elect will be inaugurated the same day.

EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, who disclosed the plans of some politicians to escape to other countries in a statement issued on Friday night, said the EFCC is presently in collaboration with its foreign partners to frustrate the plans of the said governors and politicians.
