Peter Obi, a contender for the Labour Party’s presidential nomination, “has urged Nigerian students to take their education more seriously. He claims that when coupled with the proper attitude and behavior, a good education will provide them with a wealth of opportunity.”
Obi made this statement at the three-year memorial service held by the Nigerian Book Foundation in honor of His Majesty Prof. Chukwuemeka Ike, a novelist and former traditional head of Ndikelionwu.
According to him, “He told the pupils that having a solid education will make them successful in life, not having a lot of money.”

Prof. Stella Okunna, co-President of the Nigerian Book Foundation, “welcomed Obi and thanked him for speaking to the students, praising his love of learning.”
