A Lot Of People Have Been Senate Presidents From The Southeast In The Past, Like Chuba – Thomas

Akinwolere Akin-Thomas Babajide, a former candidate for the House of Representatives and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, discusses ongoing intrigues among different interest groups regarding the competition for the position of Senate president in the upcoming political regime. The extracts are provided by COLLINS NNABUIFE:

Do you believe that the governors and senators from the South-East and the South-South who are members of the APC should also be taken into consideration?

“Sens. Chuba Okadigbo, Aldolphus Wabara, and Ken Nnamani are just a few of the South-East senators who have served as Senate president in the past. However, let’s put our emotions aside and face reality. The administration taking office on May 29 is a full APC administration. If you look at the results of the most recent election, the party did not win the states in the South-East and South South where their governors are party members. Let’s be honest: the APC cannot leave the North-West zone wide open for the opposition to seize control of the region in the upcoming four years.
