Irate Youths Kill Sexagenarian, Set Ablaze 64 Houses, 3 Motorcycles

The Bauchi Police Command says irate youths have killed one, set ablaze 64 houses, three motorcycles and destroyed properties worth millions of Naira in Bogoro Local Government Area of the state.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Spokesman of the command, SP Ahmed Wakil, made available to Newsmen on Sunday in Bauchi.

He said this happened as a result of protest by some irate youths against the coronation of the head of Sang village in the area council.

Houses Burnt In Kano

Three persons have been feared dead during a supplementary election in Wudil Local Government Area of Kano State.

It was gathered that some suspected political thugs invaded a polling unit in the area on Saturday and were resisted by residents of the area.

The incident occurred at the Wudil local government area, about 50 kilometres from the state capital.

Afam Ogene Wins Ogbaru Federal Constituency Seat

Hon. Victor Afam Ogene of Labour Party (LP) been declared winner of the Ogbaru House of Representatives seat by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

He defeated the incumbent House of Representatives member of the constituency, Hon. Chukwuma Onyema of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who is a third term member of the Green Chamber.

Announcing the results at Atani, headquarters of Ogbaru Local Government Area , the Returning Officer, Professor Kingsley Ubaorji of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, said “Hon. Afam Ogene of Labour Party polled 10,851 votes of the total votes cast, followed by the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP), Hon Chukwuma Wilfred Onyema who polled 10,619 votes.

Isah, Williams Pick APM, ADC Guber Tickets In Kogi

Arch Dauda Isah has emerged as the governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) in Kogi State.

Isah, who was a consensus candidate of the party, scored 69 votes to emerge as the flagbearer of APM.

The primary election was held at APM Secretariat in Lokoja with a heavy security presence.
