An elder statesman, scholar, economist and political strategist, Elder (Dr) Uma Eleazu, in an interview has reacted to Lai Mohammed’s allegation against the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, where accused Obi of commiting insurrection. According to the elder statesman, how does Lai Mohammed define insurrection and how does insurrection become treason?
He made this statement while responding to a question asked by sun Newspaper, which is “How will you react to the statement credited to the Information Minister, Lai Mohammed, in far away New York that Mr Peter Obi, has committed insurrection, a treasonable offence?”
In his own words, Uma Eleazu said “I don’t understand what he means when he says Peter Obi has committed insurrection, therefore, he has committed treason.
“As far as APC people are concerned, INEC has spoken. They manufacture stories and hang it on somebody so that while you are struggling to deny it, you will lose sight of the main issue. How does he define insurrection, and how does insurrection become treason?”- he added
