Jesus scored his fourth goal of the year at the Brentford Community Stadium, giving Mikel Arteta’s team a lead in the standings going into the break.
After the game, the Brazil international sent a message to Vinicius Jr., who had received derogatory remarks from a Spanish agent, Pedro Bravo, after dancing during Real Madrid’s goal celebration against Real Mallorca last week. Pedro Bravo had advised Vinicius Jr. to “stop playing the monkey.”
Many of Vinicius Jr.’s teammates spoke out in favor of the player when the agent was accused of being racist.
One of them was Jesus, a fellow countryman who imitated the celebration exactly when he scored against Brentford.
Vinicius Jr. wrote in the comments area of Jesus’ subsequent Instagram post, “I am your fan,” in response to his command to “dance and dance.”
With Vinicius Jr. guiding Carlo Ancelotti’s team, Real Madrid is excelling in both La Liga and the Champions League, especially without Karim Benzema.
The fact that Arsenal is a few tiers below the Spanish powerhouses is not cause for concern because, at the end of the day, they are the European Champions.
