Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang signed for Chelsea on transfer deadline day, and his transfer is one of the trending headlines presently. The former Arsenal star is seen as the competent striker who could end the Blues’ scoring predicaments, considering his previous exploit ls in the EPL.
Fans of the Blues team also appear to be overly excited concerning what he is capable of offering at the front of the attack. But despite Aubameyang’s capabilities, there are still two weaknesses the striker has that could slow him down at Chelsea.
1. He can not initialize an attack
One of the noticeable weaknesses that Aubameyang has is his inability to initialize an attack. Just like Cristiano Ronaldo, the Gabonese striker simply waits for midfielders to work things out and drop a dead ball for him to finish.
This could make him have a difficult time adjusting to life with Tuchel as the coach’s pattern requires front players to be involved in the midfield play consistently.
2. He can not defend like other strikers
Another weakness that Aubameyang has is his poor defensive qualities. These days strikers are expected to fall back and aid the defense when there is enormous pressure, but Aubameyang enjoys roaming at the front more.
Tuchel tries to outplay teams by defending more and attacking when there is a chance, and these could likely hinder the striker’s performance if he fails to adjust.
