The fifth match week of the English Premier League (EPL) is here. Four matches have been scheduled for the night of Tuesday, August 30, 2022. What should we expect from these 4 games?
Fulham will host Brighton at Craven Cottage by half past 7 in the night. Aleksandar Mitrović (a Serbian striker) will seek to add to his four-goal haul by breaching Brighton’s defence on Tuesday. It should be noted that no opposition player has scored against Brighton this term (the only goal against them so far is an own goal). Meanwhile, only one of the 4 EPL clashes was not a draw and it ended with a 4-2 home win for the Cottagers.
Brentford will also visit Crystal Place in a London derby by 30 minutes past 7. Previous to clashes between them have ended without any goal. Will the arrival of winger Mikkel Damsgaard make the difference for the visitors this time?
Later in the night, Southampton will host Chelsea. The saints have only won one of their last ten games Blues. However, the hosts have not defeated any Tuchel-managed side. Raheem Sterling will hope to continue his goal-scoring run after breaking his goal-drought with a brace on match day 4.
The last game of Tuesday will kick off by 9pm. Everton will be going to Elland road to battle Leeds. The Toffees have only managed to garner two points from four matches this term. Meanwhile, the Peacocks the only side that have beaten Chelsea without conceding any goal this season. Historically, Everton are the stronger team having only lost two of their last ten matches to Leeds that escaped relegation by the whiskers last season. The acquisition of top class players in all departments this season has made the Peacocks a formidable team. Does Lampard have the formula to defeat the Jesse Marsch-managed side this time? It seems unlikely.
