Today I have been able to come up with a list of seven top celebrities who have suffered from life-threatening illnesses.

 

Julius Agwu

In 2015, popular Nigerian comedian, Julius Agwu, suffered a serious illness when he announced that doctors had discovered three tumours in his brain. The disease required an operation, and he was flown out of Nigeria to the US to carry out the operation. The operation was carried out successfully and he continues to live his life without further issues.

 

Kemi Afolabi

Popular Yoruba movie actress, Kemi Afolabi, announced earlier this year that she had been diagnosed with lupus and the doctors had told her that she had only five years to live. She shared a video of herself on Instagram where she revealed that she has started her lupus treatment on the 30th of June.

 

Tonia Omotayo

Wizkid’s ex-girlfriend, Tonia Omotayo, recently announced the difficulties she has been facing in her life. She revealed that she had been struggling with endometriosis. She disclosed that every time she was on her menses, she would bleed continuously for about three weeks in a month. This has been a real concern for her and it is something that has destabilized her health quite sometimes according to her.

 

Eedris Abdulkareem

Legendary The Nigerian musician, Eedris Abdulkareem, has recently revealed that he has suffered from kidney failure. He has shared pictures of himself at the hospital as he is poised to go through an operation for a kidney transplant.

 

Taiwo Hassan

Veteran Yoruba movie actor, Taiwo Hassan, suffered from a serious illness in 2004 after pictures of him emerged on social media looking like a shadow of himself. After his recovery that he was struggling with a chronic ulcer at the time.
