Why did Davis Kemei stab his estranged wife and in-law?
Mercy’s brother, Gilbert Kemboi, was injured while trying to protect her from her enraged husband.
He also shared what led to the violent attack, noting that Kemei had a knife with him during the meeting.
“As we went on with the reconciliation meeting, my sister was asked if she was willing to go back to her husband, and she requested time to think,” said Gilbert.
Upon hearing her response, Gilbert stated that the man pulled out a knife and stabbed Mercy.
Following the incident, an enraged mob went after the suspect and beat him before he was also rushed to a different hospital for treatment.
Joan Milko, a chief nurse at the hospital, stated that cases of gender-based violence had become rampant and cited a few examples of previous cases.
