Gladys Wanga Breaks Silence Over Wild Affair Rumours; Ruto to Visit Mt. Kenya in First Tour Since Gachagua’s Ouster & IEBC Data Shows Ruto-Raila Pact Has a 7M Votes Head-Start

Good morning,

The Ministry of Defense on Monday strongly refuted claims published by Nation Media Group (NMG) that former Prime Minister Raila Odinga played a role in preventing a military coup against President William Ruto.

The Sunday Nation, in their Sunday publication, reported that the ODM leader had revealed that the deployment of the military during the anti-Finance Bill protests by Gen Z last year could have spiraled into a full-blown crisis, with the army potentially seizing power.

Raila further reportedly disclosed that he had to step in to prevent what he described as an imminent military takeover terming the move to involve the military ‘a grave mistake’.

However, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) dismissed the reports as false, misleading, and irresponsible as they emphasized that the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) is a professional and apolitical institution committed to discipline, integrity, and national service.

The ministry further stated that the military remains loyal to the Commander-in-Chief and is dedicated to protecting the country without political influence and criticized NMG for publishing unverified information from undisclosed sources.

What are your thoughts about this spat between NMG and MoD?
