An undated video of Jowie Irungu having fun with his friend at home has caused an uproar with many demanding to know his current whereabouts.
Jowie was in February 2024 found guilty of killing businesswoman Monica Kimani with Lady Justice Grace Nzioka saying there was enough evidence tying him to the crime scene.
The High Court judge also, in her judgement rendered on March 13, 2024, ordered that Jowie be sentenced to death.
He however filed a notice of appeal on March 15, 2024 and requested to be physically in court during the appeal.

Is Jowie Irungu out of prison
However, the video shared by @Sultan Ke1 on TikTok showed Jowie in a happy mood, watching something funny on the phone.
In the clip, Jowie, who was previously in a relationship with Jackie Maribe was in a white dotted shirt and a black trouser while his friend was in a red t-shirt and blue jeans.
Since he was sentenced, Jowie has been in prison and the circulating online is a TBT video. It is unconfirmed if the video was taken before his sentencing or before his legal woes began.
Some netizens wondered if he was out while others insinuated that he may probably be out of prison but living an underground lifestyle.

How Jowie reacted to his death sentence
Jowie’s sentencing sparked mixed reactions with a majority of netizens siding with him and wishing he got a lesser sentence.
However, in court, he was captured balancing tears in his eyes after the judge handed him a death sentence.
He muttered a few words before sinking his head as Justice Nzioka continued to read her sentence.
How Jowie’s family reacted to his sentence
After the sentencing, Jowie was captured sitting next to his mother who could be seen giving him words of encouragement.
They were also joined by other family members who sat with Jowie and her mum as they talked to him in hush tones.
His sister however broke down and wept as she followed him as he was being escorted by tight security and armed officers.
