Nairobi, Kenya: Kenyans have taken to various social media platforms to mourn the untimely death of Miriam Opondo, a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) executive who was found dead.

What did Miriam Opondo’s job entail?
Until her death, Opondo was the Programme Officer in-charge of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

She was tasked with mainstreaming policies and programmes that encouraged more participation and representation of minority groups and particularly PWDs in UDA and government.
“The 41-year-old mother of five was not only a valued member of our UDA family but also a kind and dedicated individual who brought positivity and commitment to everything she undertook,” said Hasaan Omar.
What was Oponod known for in UDA?
“The deceased’s contributions to our organization were immeasurable and leaves a big vacuum in the organisation’s ecosystem. Opondo had a unique ability to uplift those around her, and her hard work and passion inspired all,” he added.
UDA also offered solidarity and support to the family during this difficult time.
“We pray that God grants them the strength and grace to bear the enormous. To the family, poleni sana,” said Omar.

Fallen William Cheptumo’s kids impress Kenyans
Recently, UDA suffered another blow when Baringo senator William Cheptumo died at the Nairobi Hospital where he was being treated for a long illness.
After learning of his death, Kenyans paid glowing tributes to the decorated lawyer and also consoled his family, which comprises of a wife and three kids who are all lawyers
During a memorial service held in Nairobi, his children took turns to eulogise him and impressed many with their confidence and eloquence.
