Pain as KDF Officer Killed During Fight Inside Kericho Bar

Tragedy struck after a Kenya Defence Force soldier was killed during a violent confrontation in a bar at Mataragon area within Kipkelion West Constituency, Kericho.
Reports indicate that some friends were partying at a local bar on Saturday night when a quarrel ensued, leading to a fight.
In the ensuing scuffle, a group of revelers pounced on the KDF officer and beat him to death. After the attack, the suspects fled the bar and went into hiding.

Patrons at the bar watched helplessly as the assailiants attacked the soldier. They later rushed him to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Following the incident, hundreds of residents held demonstrations demanding for legal action. Tension remained high as irate locals went on the rampage and burnt down houses of the murder suspects.
Kericho County Police Commander James Ngetich confirmed the incident saying the matter is under investigation.
Ngetich called on residents to remain calm to allow police complete investigations.
