In his efforts to unite the region, he has visited with politicians, businesspeople, and religious leaders, among other significant figures. The former DP acknowledged the discussions, lately stating that he will provide political leadership for the region in January.
“He is going to make a very big comeback. He is currently consulting different people who believe in him. In January, we shall know the outcome of the consultations. That is what will inform our strategy,” Muranga Senator Joe Nyutu, also a Gachagua ally, said.
Already, Gachagua is in negotiations with Wiper chief Kalonzo Musyoka and other Azimio coalition members to establish a super alliance that would keep Ruto out of important regions and counties.
According to the former Deputy president’s supporters, an agreement with Gachagua is imminent.
“We are working on the new coalition and looking for new partners, the coalition should be in place by Christmas. We are first making sure we have as many like-minded parties as possible,” Makueni Senator and Wiper deputy secretary general Dan Maanzo said.
