Govt Declares Friday, November 1 Public Holiday

The swearing in of the new deputy president professor Kithure Kindiki is supposed to take place tomorrow and as it stands, the government has declared tomorrow, Friday 1, November 2024 as a public holiday.
According to news by Citizen TV, professor Kithure Kindiki will take over from Rigathi Gachagua in a ceremony that has been prepared and will take place between 10:30am and 2Pm.
The ceremony is currently being chaired by committee members who have been Gazetted this evening and this team has 21 members who will oversee the event.
President Ruto who is currently in Burundi for the COMESA event is supposed to be in Kenya to witness the swearing in but so far, the tension is that no news about his coming has been confirmed and we have been told that the chief justice Martha Koome will lead in the swearing in of Kithure Kindiki. Kindiki is supposed to assume duties tomorrow by 2PM.
