The rumours spread after a poster, allegedly from a reputable media outlet, suggested the meeting would focus on the impeachment case of Rigathi Gachagua.

According to the fake poster, Koome was allegedly seeking clarification regarding interference in the judicial process by State House operatives.
“Chief Justice Martha Koome will meet President Ruto on Tuesday to discuss alleged intimidation of judges by Statehouse operatives over Gachagua’s impeachment cases,” read the poster.
The Judiciary, however, swiftly responded by debunking the claims on its official social media platforms.
It shared the viral poster with a bold “fake” stamp across it, urging the public to disregard the misleading information.
