Former Murang’a Governor Mwangi Wa Iria has changed his political tune and announced that President William Ruto will be re-elected into office in 2027.
Speaking on Monday, Wa Iria, who was one of Ruto’s vocal opposers in 2022, announced that Ruto will win by a big margin in 2027. He said despite Gachagua’s woes, the head of state will win by over 70% in 2027 elections.
He warned M Kenya not to allow themselves to be separated and stay out of government in 2027. He added that the region should remain solidly behind Ruto so that they can benefit from more developments from government when Ruto wins
“Mimi nilikua mtu wa kwanza kumuambia Gachagua aache mambo ya shareholder. Mimi nataka kuambia watu wa Mt Kenya ukweli, Ruto ako half time. Huyu rais atarudi 2027 na kura yake will be more than 70% andikeni hiyo mahali, sifurahishi mtu hiyo ni ukweli. Tuhakikishe zile matakwa yetu tumempelekea amalize lakini kudangaya watu kwamba Ruto atashindwa kwa sababu Gachagua ameenda ni kudanganya watu,” he stated

“Mimi naonanga mbali kwa kisiasa na sisi lazima akue hapo, hatutaki tuonekane kwamba sisi hatuko kwa serikali. We dont want him to get elected and we look like we are the ones opposing him. Last time it was 50 50 but this time he will win it by 70%. I have been Ruto’s friend and I have been in opposition and I have seen this,” he stated
He rubbished reports from a section of Mt Kenya leaders claiming Ruto’s government has been shaken in Mt Kenya, adding that they will be in for a big shok. He said all the votes Raila Odinga
“Raila has joined Ruto and that is a big coalition of 14 million votes. Let me tell our people that Ruto will win by a big margin in the region despite Gachagua’s woes” he added
