A contingent of armed anti-riot police officers has been deployed to Uhuru Park in Nairobi ahead of a planned parallel Mashujaa Day celebration.
Images seen by Citizen Digital show water canons parked at strategic points in the City Park and officers camping at different points.
A section of the Kenyan youth and activists had planned to converge at the grounds to honour the victims of the nationwide anti-government protests held in June and July 2025 with the prominent one being the Parliament invasion on June 25.
