President William Samoei Ruto economic advisor Moses Kuria has come out to allege that the newly appointed Deputy President Professor Kithure Kindiki will be sworn in office on Saturday despite court order barring the process from going ahead.Â
While taking to his social media platforms, the vocal politician posted a video saying that he was conducting an inspection of a venue where professor Kithure Kindiki will be sworn in. The venue is believed to be in State House Nairobi.Â
According to the video that he shared online, a section of individuals could be seen erecting a dias and tents with full sound system. The video also showed lorries ferrying equipment at the site. Furthermore, several Kenya Defense Forces security officers could be seen keeping security as the process continues.Â
It is not clear whether the event will continue with several court cases in place issuing conservatory orders. One court case filed in Kerugoya High Court has already barred professor Kithure Kindiki from assuming office after being cleared by the National Assembly. On the other hand, another court case in Nairobi has stopped the impeachment and replacement of Rigathi Gachagua until October 24th when the case will be mentioned.Â
Similarly, Rigathi Gachagua legal team led by Senior Counsel Paul Mwite and Ndegwa Njiiru moved to court on Friday seeking to overturn the impeachment of their client. They argued that the entire process, especially in the Senate, was unconstitutional since Gachagua was not given a chance to be heard when he was declared sick.Â
