Impeached deputy President Hon Rigathi Gachagua suffered a huge blow in his political career after the majority of senators voted to kick him out of office despite being hospitalized. The former county second in command is now battling to save his political career by moving to court to challenge his ouster from office.Â
According to reliable sources, it is reported that impeached deputy President Hon Rigathi Gachagua had already predicted his fate long time ago how his journey will be cut short. It is reported that days before being removed from office, Hon Rigathi Gachagua relocated from his official residence in Karen and moved to his private home.Â
Immediately after being impeached his security was scaled down while still in hospital. His fate now lies in courts of law to see if he will successfully challenge the appointment of interior cabinet secretary professor Kithure Kindiki who is set to be sworn in hours after being cleared by the National Assembly.Â
During Paul Mwite argument in the Senate, the veteran legal practitioner argued that his client has been denied a chance to explain himself in the upper house since he was sick. Paul Mwite and other lawyers representing deputy President Hon Rigathi Gachagua then walked out of the chamber after the Senate declined their request to have the cross-examination exercise pushed forward.Â
Rigathi Gachagua legal team has now filed a case in court challenging the impeachment proceedings in the senate saying the entire process was unconstitutional since he was not given a fair chance of hearing.Â
