He argued that all those who voted in favor of Gachagua’s impeachment motion are patriots who want to prevent the country from descending into turmoil.

“I know many Kenyans are asking themselves questions because they have not come to understand properly what is going on in Gachagua’s impeachment. I want to urge Kenyans to be patient and for once believe in us. We are not mad,” Sudi said.

Sudi added that the MPs found it unacceptable for one person to bring one community against all other communities in the country.

He said the MPs did not want Kenya to revert to the tribal clashes of 2007 that resulted in the deaths of many Kenyans.

“That is why I stand every other day and ask Kenyans to stop tribalism. One cannot push one tribe against other tribes in the country,” Sudi added.

He argued that anyone calling for segregation in the country on tribal grounds should be removed, as they are the greatest enemy of the nation.

“We will get rid of you because you are the country’s greatest enemy.”

He claimed that several leaders in the country have tried to urge Gachagua to stop engaging in divisive politics, in vain.

He asserted that they will do whatever it takes to remove Gachagua from office.

In a separate incident, Gachagua’s lawyers, Tom Macharia, accused the Senate of attempting a “microwave impeachment” to remove the deputy president from office.

Macharia argued that the attempt is occurring amid several trials where Gachagua sought to block his impeachment in the Senate.

While urging Justice Chacha Mwita to issue conservatory orders to stop the Senate’s debate on the impeachment motion against Gachagua, Macharia argued that if Gachagua is impeached, he will be permanently barred from holding any public servant position in the country.
