Like an air of revenge. Champion stripped of its throne last year in Ligue 1, at the heart of a very disappointing season punctuated by a 10th place in the league, LOSC Lille intends to set the record straight, while the new 2022-2023 financial year looms in France. The Jocelyn Gourvennec era did not last very long, and Paulo Fonseca, new coach of the Mastiffs, now has the heavy task of raising the bar.
It is in this particular context that New Balance unveiled this Monday the new home jersey that Jonathan Bamba, José Fonte and Jonathan David will wear throughout the 2022-2023 season on French lawns. This is a somewhat special tunic for the northern club, since the American brand has chosen to pay tribute to the jersey of the 2011-2012 season, crowned with the title of French L1 champion.
A tribute jersey to Hazard & co
We obviously find the intense red, faithful to the traditional colors of Lille, while several horizontal stripes in navy blue and white in the center, on a good part of this outfit. The main shirt sponsor of OM and Aston Villa, Cazoo, makes his first appearance on a LOSC kit in the blue part dedicated to him, thus replacing Boulanger after three years of collaboration.
With this tunic tribute to Eden Hazard, Gervinho and their partners under the orders of Rudi Garcia at the time, the residents of the Decathlon Arena hope to restore the image of LOSC, and thus achieve a high-flying 2022-2023 season to find the summits in France.
