Electricity customers in different parts of Kenya should prepare for power interruptions scheduled for Sunday, 27th April 2025, due to planned maintenance activities.
The outages will affect several regions including Nairobi, North Rift, Mt. Kenya, and Coast areas.
In the Nairobi Region, the power disruption will impact the Grain Bulk area, Syokimau Railway Station, Complast, and nearby customers. The maintenance will take place between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
In the North Rift Region, parts of Uasin Gishu County, particularly the Soy and Furfural areas, will also experience outages from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Affected areas include Soy, Likuyani, Imbinga, Iuvgwi, Lumino, Navilus, Kabobo Farm, Kipsomba, and other nearby regions.
The Mt. Kenya Region will witness wider maintenance activities, especially in Nyeri County. Areas such as Kahiga Market, Tumutumu Hospital, and surrounding villages will be without power from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Additionally, the whole of Nyeri, Mweiga, and Tetu will have scheduled outages from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This includes Nyeri Town, Kangemi, Asian Quarters, and multiple estates, villages, schools, and institutions like Nyeri Polytechnic and Kimathi University. Residents of key farms, shopping centers, and business hubs will also be affected.
In the Coast Region, parts of Mombasa County, particularly Changamwe, will face power cuts between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Notable areas to be affected include Pamba Road, Miracle Park, MICD, Kenya Railways, Cosole Base, Ligna, Total Depot, KMC, Uganda Properties, Kensalt, and others around Changamwe Police and VTTI.
The planned maintenance is essential to enhance the reliability and quality of power supply.
Customers are advised to make necessary arrangements to avoid inconveniences during the outage period.
