On April 25, 2025, Kenyan media personality Oga Obinna, whose real name is Steve Thompson Maghana, abruptly walked out of an interview on Radio 47’s Baze47NaManucho show after host Manucho pressed him about his ongoing feud with comedian Mulamwah, real name David Oyando.
The dramatic exit, widely reported on platforms like X and K24 Digital, has ignited fresh buzz around the entertainers’ escalating online beef, which has captivated Kenyan social media.
The tension began when Obinna, known for his vibrant energy on The Obinna Weekly Show, entered the studio in high spirits. However, the mood soured when Manucho ignored Obinna’s request to avoid discussing his rift with Mulamwah. The feud traces back to Obinna’s absence from Mulamwah’s comedy show, Let Me Explain, on August 20, 2024.
Obinna claimed he wasn’t invited and discovered Mulamwah had blocked him on Instagram, a revelation he shared during a K24 TV interview on April 23, 2025. Mulamwah retaliated, accusing Obinna of seeking clout by discussing trending figures, including a controversial segment on his show that referenced Mulamwah’s son, Kalamwah.
During the Radio 47 interview, Manucho’s probing questions about Obinna’s alleged clout-chasing provoked a heated response. Obinna, visibly agitated, branded Mulamwah a “bully” who had insulted other media personalities and clarified he hadn’t personally shaded Mulamwah’s son.
When Manucho persisted, Obinna lost his cool, thanked the DJ, and exited the studio with his bodyguard, Vicker Munene, in tow.
The incident, shared widely on X, has divided fans, with some criticizing Obinna’s sensitivity and others slamming Manucho for unprofessionalism. As the feud continues to unfold, it raises questions about the boundaries of media interviews and the pressures of public personas in Kenya’s entertainment scene.
