A petition has been filed in court challenging a directive that requires graduate officers in the Kenya Prisons Service to hold a Master’s degree as a prerequisite for promotion to the rank of Inspector of Prisons.
The petition, lodged by activist Fredrick Bikeri, argues that the directive is unfair, lacks proper justification, and was introduced without consultation or public participation.
