Crowd Goes Wild as Ruto’s CS Endorses an MP to Oust ODM Governor in 2027 Poll

Cooperative, Small and Micro Enterprises Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya has endorsed Ikolomani Member of Parliament Bernard Masaka Shinali for the gubernatorial seat in the upcoming 2027 General Election.

Speaking during a public gathering in Kakamega, the CS slammed ODM Governor Fernandes Barasa for poor leadership.

Oparanyas’ sentiments made the crowd chant and praise Shinali for being recognised by the former governor.

This endorsement follows similar moves by other leaders, including Senator Boni Khalwale and Women Representative Elsie Muhanda, who have been traversing the county to rally support, believing that Kakamega will be secure under their leadership.

Recently, the UDA senator Khalwale, has been criticising President Ruto for allegedly taking the Luhya community for granted, accusing him of neglecting the region’s development needs.

Khalwale expressed frustration over the lack of progress in key areas, including impassable roads and closed industries, while claiming that the president continues to offer empty promises.

He also accused the president of sidelining the Luhya community by favouring Luo leaders, claiming that the 30% representation promised to Luhyas has instead gone to opposition leader Raila Odinga’s supporters.
