Nyali Member of Parliament Mohamed Ali, popularly known as Jicho Pevu, has come out guns blazing against what he terms as political schemes within the UDA party aimed at tainting his name by linking him to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Speaking firmly, the outspoken legislator stated, “Kuna wanaosema mimi ni mwandani wa Gachagua ili kunikandamiza kisiasa… hamtafaulu.”

Ali defended his long-standing friendship with Gachagua, pointing out that even President William Ruto, who leads UDA, now engages with ODM leader Raila Odinga, showing that political alliances are fluid.

“Sitokubali kurithi uadui wa kisiasa,” he said, rejecting the idea of inherited political enmity.

This statement comes just days after the MP hinted at his possible exit from the UDA grassroots elections in Mombasa, asserting that he is free to join any political party of his choice.

His remarks have sparked speculation about looming cracks within UDA’s coastal bloc, with some viewing it as the beginning of a bold political shift.
