Heartbroken Mum Refuses Body Viewing for Murdered Daughter

A heart-wrenching decision has been made by Nancy Mungai, the mother of 32-year-old Lucy Wamaitha, who was brutally murdered earlier this year. Lucy disappeared after a work trip with her boss in Embu and was later found dead — her dismembered remains discovered in the Sagana River.

Nancy announced that Lucy’s burial, set for Thursday, April 17, will not include a body viewing. The family only recovered her torso, and despite weeks of waiting and searching, no other parts were found.

“It is painful, but I’ve accepted to bury what we have,” said Nancy. “We will place her photo on the casket and carry her remains home.”

Lucy’s remains will be collected from Montezuma Monalisa mortuary before the final farewell.

Nancy also spoke about the murder case. She revealed that the main suspect, Lucy’s boss, is currently in custody at the Industrial Area Prison. “Only he and God know what really happened,” she said, holding back tears.

The grieving mother also mentioned that Lucy had sensed danger months before her death. Back in October 2024, Lucy had asked her mother to pray for her. She felt someone at work was planning to set her up. Her boss allegedly had a romantic interest in her.

Lucy’s cousin also mourned her as a kind, loving soul. “She didn’t deserve this. Love should not end in death,” she said. The family condemned the rising number of deaths tied to relationships, calling it a dangerous trend.

As the family prepares for burial, one thing is clear: they want justice. And they want Lucy to rest in peace, even if her story is still full of painful questions.
