Manchester United fans staged a post-match protest against the Glazer family’s ownership following the goalless draw at Old Trafford on Sunday evening.
The demonstration, organised by the ‘1958’ fan group, saw some supporters remain in their seats after the final whistle to express their frustrations and call for change at the club.

Reasons behind the United supporters’ protest
The reason behind the protest was that many United fans were complaining about ticket prices at Old Trafford becoming too high, making it difficult for loyal fans to afford to attend games at the venue.

Chris Haymes, a member of the ‘1958’ group, explained the reason for the protest before the match.
Haymes said that fans were simply being asked to remain in the seats they had paid for—seats many of them had occupied for the last 50 or 60 years.
He added that staying seated was an easy form of protest, as supporters around the stadium had been using the same seats for decades.
Chris Haymes said, “We’re asking fans to stay in their seats after the game. That’s your seat, the one you’ve probably had for 50 or 60 years, and it’s a simple way to make our point. People around the stadium have been in those same seats for decades, and staying put is a show of loyalty and protest,” as per the Inkl website.
Who is the Glazer family?
United is currently owned by the six children of the late Malcolm Glazer, who took control of the club in 2005 through his investment company, Red Football Ltd.
Acting on the advice of his sons, Glazer began acquiring shares in the club in 2003 and gradually increased his stake over the following two years.
By the end of 2005, he had successfully secured full ownership of the English football giant.

Fans react to United protest after derby draw
“We want glazers out then stop buying tickets watching this team club play that is the only way no fans no money.”
“The premier league is eating itself with greed! Loyal fans priced out replaced with tourists creating rubbish atmosphere, disturbing referees and the boring no risk football seen in 90% of games.”
“I need someone to take the mic and tell them to stop the fooling. There was an opportunity when the club was up for sale, should have protested for a full sale but MUST and 1958 bottled it.”
“Means nothing. Until people stop buying tickets, stop going to the games, stop buying merchandise, nothing will change. Every single United fan there today is part of the problem. They are the ones keeping the yanks and their little troublemaker Jimmy at the club.”
“Same people who fought the idea of Arab money are now crying 🤣🤣.What a bunch of idiots , you seriously had a way out and you chose to drown, not nonsense club can’t even offer tea for the stuff.”
“The passion of Manchester United fans is undeniable—protesting the Glazers after full-time shows how deeply they care about the club’s future.”
“Don’t worry, everything the Glazers have done to club for the last 20+ years will be forgotten after a the team gets a few wins. No wonder why the glazers can’t take these idiots seriously.”
