A fiery social media exchange between nominated Senator Karen Nyamu, Nyandarua Senator John Methu, and Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi recently left netizens in stitches as political jabs and witty remarks took centre stage.

Why did Sudi, Methu and Nyamu clash?
The clash began when Sudi targeted Methu, stating that they were not on the same political level. This followed an incident where MP Kimani Ichungwah was heckled at a political gathering, with Sudi blaming Methu for the disruption.
The Kapseret MP, never one to shy away from controversy, took it a step further, accusing Methu, known for his signature full beard, of lacking proper hygiene.

“It’s just laughable how political novices would dare call for a punching contest with political engineers. Wewe sio rika langu la kisiasa (We are not on the same political level). Nyoa kwanza. Shave first before we start arguing,” Sudi wrote in part.
Methu, not one to let an insult slide, responded with his characteristic wit.
“Sasa andika bila kumwaga kamasi” (Now write without spilling phlegm), throwing shade at Sudi’s remarks.
His response quickly gathered attention, with many calling it a masterclass in political banter.
But the exchange did not stop there. Enter Karen Nyamu, who is widely recognised for her social media presence.
She weighed in on the ongoing spat, offering a critique of Methu’s political approach.
Nyamu advised Methu to leave behind ‘outdated’ politics and focus on ‘progressive’ ideas for the future.
“This is outdated politics. You are a young politician with a bright future. Be progressive, take us to the future, not the past,” Nyamu wrote, adding fuel to the already heated argument.
Methu, again never one to back down from a good banter, hit back with a cheeky remark that took the exchange to another level.
He compared Nyamu’s perspective to how people can get enhancements for their backside but not for their thinking.
“You can get a bigger backside, but there’s no surgery for bigger brains,” Methu quipped, leaving social media users in stitches.

Why did Karen Nyamu irk Kenyans?
In another story, a video featuring Karen Nyamu making controversial remarks about Mt. Kenya voters sparked outrage online.
In Kikuyu, the senator claimed that the government had already “touched Murima” and was now intending to “insert a finger inside the mountain.”
The comments were made while Nyamu was seated in the back of a car alongside Gatundu North MP Elijah Njoroge Kúrúria as they drove to the Mt Kenya region for William Ruto’s tour.
