Kajiado – Former Kajiado woman representative Janet Marania Teyiaa has passed away.

When did Janet Mariana Teyiaa die
On Monday, April 7, former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua shared the sad news on his social media platform.

In his message, the former deputy president recalled Teyiaa’s time in the 12th parliament when she represented the people of Kajiado County as a woman representative.
“I have learnt the passing on of Hon. Janet Marania Teyiaa with great shock. I served with Janet in the 12th parliament when she represented the people of Kajiado County as a woman Representative,” Gachagua said.
Gachagua recalled how as a young girl, Teyiaa was saved by a social worker because of her disability in her childhood days.
“Janet, as young girl, was saved by a social worker due to her disability in her childhood days, brimmed the epitome of resilience and a great spirit that nothing can stop a great soul from realizing their dreams, especially the people who are abled differently,” the former DP recallled.
Gachagua said Teyiaa’s contributions to Kajiado county, especially her advocacy for people living with disability, will be greatly missed.
“Her contribution in Kajiado County on what hails our communities speak volumes on her resolve, especially speaking and advocating for the people living with disabilities. She will remain in our hearts as a people. She has left a big gap in our Nation. My deepest sympathies to her immediate family, to the people of Kajiado County and the people of Kenya,” Gachagua added.
How William Ruto mourned Marania Teyiaa
President William Ruto has also issued a statement painfully mourning the former Kajiado woman representative.
In his condolence message, the president described Teyiaa as a passionate and distinguished public servant who served her people with dedication.
The president said Teyiaa was a selfless team player who inspired many Kenyans to pursue their dreams irrespective of their backgrounds.
“I am saddened by the passing of former Kajiado County Woman Representative Janet Marania Teyiaa. Teyiaa was a passionate and distinguished public servant who served her people with dedication. She was a selfless team player and an inspiring role model who motivated many to pursue their dreams, despite humble beginnings,” Ruto said.
When did former Kisumu West MP die?
The death of the former Kajiado woman representative comes a few tweaks after former Kisumu Town West Member of Parliament, Kenn Nyagudi, passed away while receiving treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital.
National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula announced the death of the lawmaker on Sunday, March 23, and conveyed his condolences.
Wetang’ula remembered Nyagudi as a dedicated leader during his time as Foreign Affairs Minister.
