President William Ruto has been on a charm offensive in the Mount Kenya region for the last week.

How did Nyandarua women receive Ruto?
A video of the president in Nyandarua has surfaced online, showing the moment young women spotted him.
The clip, filmed as Ruto left a rally, showed an entourage of high-end vehicles composed of his communication and security teams.

Numerous uniformed and plainclothes officers were around the president’s vehicle.
A woman filming the moment asked where Ruto’s vehicle was, and a man showed her.
“It’s the one without a license plate.”
“There he is,” one woman excitedly exclaimed after spotting Ruto in the co-driver’s seat.
The women excitedly laughed before loudly calling the president.
“Ruto, Ruto,” they repeatedly said.
Their shouts caught the president’s attention, and he waved back at them while smiling.

People disgruntled with Ruto’s presidency were unimpressed by the video, while accusing the women of betrayal.

In other news, the president was warmly welcomed in Makuyu during his tour of Murang’a County.
As President Ruto addressed the crowd, the locals broke into joyful songs of praise.
The singing intensified, with the lyrics appearing to caution former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua and others against opposing Ruto’s leadership.
The community chanted that Ruto should not be underestimated, a call for him to be shown respect.
Moved by the moment, Ruto paused his speech, smiling and laughing as he watched the crowd in admiration until their performance ended.
