The sorrowful Murang’a community lost Patrick Wachira to a deadly road crash on Friday, April 4, 2025, evening.

The tragedy comes not even a year after Patrick underwent the gigantic loss of his wife while delivering in December 2023.
The two had walked down the aisle in a colourful ceremony in 2022, only to receive unbearable sorrow as his wife passed away soon after giving birth to their baby.
Murang’a Woman Representative Betty Maina made the announcement online, raging sorrows over Patrick’s demise.
Betty remembered standing with Patrick after his wife’s death by organizing a transfer from Meru to Kiambu so that he would remain close to his baby girl.

“I looked for you to encourage you and gave little solace to your baby” She added, continuing that she last spoke to him on Monday before the deadly accident.
Patrick, also a teacher and counsellor, wrote on Facebook, a touching statement of eternal love for his daughter.
Here is a quote from his post: “Having you in my life is the greatest and happiest gift I have ever had. I want to let you know I am so proud of you, Sweet Daughter.”
Tidal waves of condolence messages are flooding from his relatives and friends alike, seeing the depth of the loss suffered by the entire community.
This tragic accident leaves his daughter all alone: May you all bring the community together in prayer for comfort and healing during these difficult times.
