Tragedy struck in Nakuru after two brothers, Paul Mwangi and David Mwangi, died on the spot following a horrific road accident.
The fatal crash, which occurred on Saturday night, involved two vehicles and a trailer.
According to eyewitnesses, the brothers were traveling in a private car when it was hit by the trailer along the busy Nakuru-Eldoret highway.
The impact of the collision was severe, leaving the vehicle completely wrecked. Efforts by first responders to save the victims were futile as both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have launched investigations into the incident, with initial reports indicating that reckless driving may have been a contributing factor.
Witnesses claim the trailer was moving at high speed when it rammed into the two vehicles, causing extensive damage and loss of life.
Shockingly, the trailer driver fled immediately after the crash, leaving behind the mangled wreckage of the vehicles. Police have since launched a manhunt for the suspect, urging members of the public with any information to come forward.
Speaking at the scene, Nakuru traffic police confirmed that forensic experts had begun reconstructing the events leading to the accident.
“We are analyzing CCTV footage and gathering witness statements to establish the cause of this tragedy,” an officer said.
The tragic deaths of Paul and David Mwangi have left their family and friends devastated, with many calling for stricter enforcement of traffic rules to prevent such incidents.
The bodies have been moved to the Nakuru County morgue as burial arrangements commence.
